1964-Y Half Penny

The 1964 Perth mint half penny, like other Perth mint issues in the series comes in a salmon pink colour to a bright brick red or a chocolate brown colour and is typically plagued by impaired dies and as such is difficult to source in the upper mint state grades and very difficult to acquire with a Red designation. Despite this, die pressures were better than most other Perth mint issues resulting in much bolder strikes. Surfaces however, are not quite as nice as previous years and tend to average pieces at around the MS63-MS64 level.
