1927 Penny

The 1927 penny is one of the more common dates in the series, and no bank rolls have surfaced, the coin's relative abundance has allowed it to be available at reasonable expense in mint state grades, with true uncirculated pieces usually averaging at around MS63-4. Finding the coin with considerable original mint brilliance can still represent quite a tough challenge with no pieces being certified red (PCGS Population Report, 2011).

The 1927 penny was struck with both Indian and London obverse dies, the latter representing most 1927 pennies. Only a small number of Indian die 1927 pennies are known and generally command strong premiums.
