1911 Matte Proof Threepence

The 1911 matte proof threepence distinguishes itself from the 1911 specimen strike (Learn more about the 1911 Specimen Threepence) not only through its matte surfaces, but also by being the only threepence struck with a reeded edge.

There are 93 grooves on the reeded edge of this pattern threepence (Triton Technologies International Ltd, 2002) and the piece is known by only two examples.
