1861 Half Sovereign

The 1861 is a relatively underrated date in the higher grades, while in the lower grades, despite having the second lowest mintage figure in the series, after the 1860 (Learn more about the 1860 Half Sovereign), it's probably the second or third most common Wreathed Bust Sydney Mint.

In top grades, it's one of the scarcest dates in the series with only one mint state example appearing on the market in the last decade. The date is extremely elusive at the high AU grades with probably fewer than ten examples available.
