1882-M Standard Bust Half Sovereign



The 1882 Melbourne is the most common date in this series, especially in the upper grades, with many superior examples being found in the Ballarat Hoard. The date is known by about 1,250 examples, split roughly 50:50 between the two 1882 Melbourne types. It should be noted that the mintage figure is combined with the Type VI 1882 Melbourne as no separate mintage figures are known.
