1884-M Half Sovereign

The 1884 Melbourne is a very scarce, and slightly underrated date, coming from a tiny mintage of 48,009. While the coin doesn't appear often on the market, when it does, it is generally offered at around the $1,500 mark in XF though doesn't often sell at such a price. While certainly scarce, it tends to sell at around $1,000 in XF.

The date is extremely elusive in at or above AU with probably under 20 examples available, though in general circulation grades there would be about 800 to 900 pieces known.
